Eyes Are The Brain's Radar
Ignacy Witz (1919-1971)
November 2019 – March 2020
The exhibition of Ignacy Witz is a review of the full spectrum of the artist's drawings from the post-war years to the end of the sixties. Visitors will be able to see some satirical drawings which were never previously published as well as some projects of published and unpublished illustrations for children's books and for adults.
The book under the same title accompanying the exhibition is the first publication in the series of monographs by Sylwetka. The next volumes present the achievements of caricaturists whose artistic activity went beyond the field of caricature. Synthetic biographies and critical analyses of their creativity are accompanied by a wide selection of visual materials, largely published for the first time. The aim of the series is to remind the public the work of leading Polish satirical cartoonists, while paying attention to their multidisciplinary nature.
